We currently have a new career opportunity at our Operations location in Appleton for a Mortgage Loan Closing Manager!

The Mortgage Loan Closing Manager is responsible for the day to day managing, motivating, coaching and training our Mortgage Loan Closing Team. In addition to promoting a knowledgeable, positive team environment, this role will also be responsible for assisting Lenders with their loan closing to ensure a smooth transaction and a superior experience for all our members.

Responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to:

  • Direct, develop, motivate, empower, coach, and assist with hiring staff. Conduct annual and as needed performance evaluations and recommend appropriate personnel actions. Maintain a highly motivated well trained and cross trained team.
  • Oversee daily operations of mortgage and home equity closing. Ensure benchmarks and key performance indicators are being met.
  • Review of loan applications to ensure credit union and secondary market standards are being met and communicate recommendations if standards are not being met.
  • Accurately and efficiently validate loan application information, prepare closing documents and execute funding.
  • Interact professionally with internal and external members, originators, real estate agents and outside organizations to obtain necessary documentation.
  • Assist staff with questions regarding procedures, products and services.
  • Keep lending management informed of any inconsistencies in the department.
  • Responsible for the analyzing and preparation of all mortgage and home equity loan closing documentation. Assist in the consistency and compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in training, ongoing maintenance, and implementation of new procedures related to real estate lending compliance issues, loan policy and documentation standards to ensure quality credit union assets.

Candidates for this position should possess:

  • Five plus years of similar or related experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in mortgage and home equity lending including but not limited to origination, processing, underwriting, compliance and management.
  • In-depth knowledge of agency selling guides and Credit Union portfolio lending standards.
  • Professional well-developed interpersonal skills essential for interacting with Credit Union staff and members.
  • Experience managing onsite and remote staff is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word, Outlook and intermediate knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Previous Credit Union background preferred but not required.
