We currently have a new career opportunity at our Corporate Office (Calumet Street) in Appleton for a full-time Internal Communication Specialist!

The Internal Communication Specialist, with guidance from the Chief People Officer, will work closely with the senior team in developing effective internal messaging and communication strategies rooted in our intentional culture that informs and inspires.

Responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to:

  • Work with senior team to develop and execute an internal communications strategy based upon the organization's goals, values, and commitment to success.
  • Establish our standard for language designed around story telling principles and inclusive language with written and spoken messages to allow our values and intentional culture to shine.
  • Help to establish our internal communication channels and content that provide for a consistent flow and cadence for transcending messages, increasing overall engagement & connection.
  • Coordinate the design and messaging of Fox Central (intranet), working closely with Marketing and IT to ensure transparent, timely communication and resource information regarding Fox happenings and our intentional culture.
  • Ensure organizational information is shared successfully with all team members, including but not limited to strategic plan updates, position/org announcements, branch/call center technology issues, inclement weather, fundraising efforts, town halls, recognition events, and other day-to-day occurrences.
  • Be a key resource in helping during significant project implementations or events, to support the change management process and to promote engagement and understanding.
  • Execute "right now" communications in the event of organizational challenges. Build a go-forward plan for communicating critical updates in a meaningful and composed manner.
  • Lead the organization in the use of internal social communication.
  • Serve as a communications subject matter expert for fellow team members who need assistance developing internal communication plans, presentations, or content/document review.
  • Work in conjunction with Marketing to provide consistent templates for internal policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and coordinate follow up regarding our team member suggestions & questions process.
  • Stay in tune to changing technologies and means to increase the effectiveness of our communication channels and team member engagement.
  • Play a key role in our internal Crisis Management process, helping establish best practice methods for communication flow and information sharing to allow us to keep all appropriate parties informed and engaged as far as who is or will be responding to the situation.

Candidates for this position should possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Marketing, or related field. 5+ years of corporate writing, marketing communications, and/or public relations experience, including 3+ years managing internal and/or change communications.
  • Experience writing for senior management to an internal audience across various channels including social media, email, and print.
  • Successfully prepared and executed change management communication plans to foster engagement and understanding at all levels of an organization.

  • Experience designing internal company information interfaces such as intranet landing page layouts, internal information portals, internal software content and associate-facing webpages.
  • Demonstrated experience using independent judgment and discretion in complex situations while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Proven ability to independently organize work, mange projects, balance multiple priorities and manage a variety of projects in a high-volume work environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Possess excellent written communication and presentation skills and the proven ability to work across various departments and levels in an organization.
  • Detail orientated with fantastic follow-through skills, with a passion for the written and spoken word.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft platforms, including SharePoint and Teams.
