We currently have a career opportunity for full-time Member Education Specialist at our Corporate Office in Appleton!

The Member Education Specialist will help our members, students and community members achieve financial independence and security. Responsible for developing and implementing curriculum, seminars, webinars and work on topics and speakers to meet our member's needs.

Responsibilities and expectations of this position will include but are not limited to:

  • Follow trends in financial wellness to develop and oversee a schedule of seminars, radio shows and webinars that offer sound financial information to our staff and our members. Choose presenters, implement, and host programs. Review and develop presentation materials, create marketing plans and timelines. Look for new opportunities to educate our members.
  • Spearhead the following educational events such as, but not limited to; International Credit Union Week, Youth Week, Money Smart Week, Boys & Girls Club: School to Work initiative, High School Reality Days, Finance & Investment Challenge Bowl, Fang's Reading Club, etc.
  • Lead and promote our Scholarship Program within the schools and the community: high schools, New Lass, NWTC, FVTC, and UW-FV, etc. Develop scholarship criteria, oversee creation of judging team, choose, and contact recipients, attend Scholarship Award Programs.
  • Oversee educational tools and information provided to our members on all channels: Fox website, blogs, relevant brochures, newsletter articles, radio programs, etc. Write articles and press releases as needed.
  • Periodically review and promote our consumer web tools including Balance, SavvyMoney, and It's a Money Thing. Ensure we are using these web tools to the best of our ability.
  • Manage educational initiatives with schools. Develop age-appropriate engaging and interactive classroom presentations (some of this may be virtual). Develop class content for all ages on a wide variety of financial topics. Coordinate and track all Fox educational involvement. (Including but not limited to: Classroom presentations, Career Fairs, and Junior Achievement.) Primary contact for principals and teachers in all the communities we serve. Develop close ties to our in-school branches by acting as the liaison between the schools and the credit union. Market the credit union class presentations to our schools.
  • Develop youth and teen programs within the credit union to focus on financial literacy.
  • Promote and support financial education through community organization involvement: non-profits, local Boys and Girls Clubs, Family Services, Goodwill NCW, etc.
  • Assist in creating a program to utilize the CCUFC team members to work as a resource to our credit union members

Candidates for this position should possess:

  • (1) A two-year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school
  • Will also be required to become a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) through CUNA's FiCEP program. Certification fees are paid for by Fox Communities Credit Union
  • One to three years of similar or related experience.
  • Knowledge of educational principles in learning preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate both in writing and orally.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Motivated to help people who are looking for help improving their financial outlook.
  • Ability to facilitate interactive discussions with students of all ages and excellent at public speaking and conducting webinars.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to communicate in a professional manner with community contacts.
